Music is natural to every child.
Children learn through experience. From the moment of birth, their whole bodies are seeing, hearing, touching, and imitating everything around them. Musikgarten is an early childhood educational approach that takes the child's innate love for discovery and play and transforms it into a family-centered learning experience. Parents and caregivers sing, chant, dance, move, tell stories, and play simple instruments with their children. Music activities will immerse children in language and movement, develop the imagination and memory, and stimulate physical coordination. Weekly group classes build community and friendship whilst fostering a child's natural love for music.

Musikgarten: Family Music for Babies (newborn - 18 months)
Play musically with your baby through bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peek-a-boo games, dancing, moving, and singing. Activities will increase your child's curiosity about music, develop listening skills, and build a sense of beat, and establish the foundation for singing and musical thought. Class materials include an instrument bag with rhythm sticks, rattles, scarves, recordings of the songs (CD and digital download), and an activity book so you can build on the class play at home. An adult must accompany each child to class.
Family Music for Toddlers (16 months - 3 years)
Our children are up and running now! These fun-filled classes incorporate singing and movement games that build spatial awareness, body control and focused listening. We'll develop our toddler's singing voice and sense of rhythmic beat by using bouncing songs, circle dances, rhythmic sticks, and scarves to enhance their love of play. Watch as their self-confidence, motor coordination, and language skills develop in this loving, joyful environment. Materials include a listening recording (CD and digital download) and a parent/child book with songs and activities that keep the fun going at home. An adult must accompany every child to class. Children should be able to walk without assistance.
Cycle of Seasons (3 - 5 years)
At this age, children are growing in independence and social play. The musical journey continues as kids develop their ear for music, build their imagination, and expand their ability to focus. Our classes use the sounds of nature and the four seasons to involve parents and kids in singing, storytelling, creative movement, rhythmic and pitch development, vocal imitation, active listening, and instrument exploration. Materials include listening recordings (CD and digital downloads) and a parent book for at-home activities. An adult must accompany every child to class.
